Testimony of an Arthritis patient

I started feeling pain in my knees early last year especially when I try to bend, stoop,  squat, get up from a sitting position, climb  up the stairs, even while trying to sit on the toilet, etc. so I went to my primary health care and he referred me to an orthopedic. An x-ray of my knees showed that the cartilage in both knees were thinning out, though I still have some left, and physical therapy was what he could recommend to strengthen the muscles around my knees. He couldn't give me any pain shot because I wasn't bone to bone yet.

 I started the physical therapy around August  2018, and after about 3 months, I was asked to continue the muscle strengthening  they  had taught me at home.

I bought all the gadgets from  Recumbent exercise bike to half ball, ankle weight, stretch belt, etc. plus instructions from the physical therapist.
Don't get me wrong, exercise is good, but I didn't have the time, infact I couldn't commit to a time, I had thought of incorporating the same schedule I kept with the physical therapist, but the commitments of raising children took over every effort.
I was very disappointed, and worried that I would never be able to get my muscle strengthening target, and the pain never went away.
I went back to the physical therapist to see if he could put me back on the schedule because I am better committed, and disciplined when I go to them than at home. He advised that I should get a personal trainer.
 I registered with a planet fitness gym, so I can have access to a trainer. It's been 3 months and I am yet to start a single class though it’s about 20 minutes without traffic.
I adapted some strategies of shifting my weight on other parts of my body while I tried to stand up, sit, squat, kneel, etc.
I consulted with a health and wellness doctor on 24th of May 2019 to start a weight Loss program where I would stop eating carbs, sugar, and fat for a period of time in an effort to loose about 70 pounds.  I am yet to start because I have to finish the yam and some other foods that I  bought, and some that I cooked in the refrigerator. I will do that when I am ready because my target is to be 150 pounds lighter. I am not 220 Lbs yet o.
